When we sat down with the Red Bull Advanced Technologies team, the goal was simple: create the ultimate race bike. We leaned on Red Bull’s vast aerodynamic expertise to completely reimagine what a bike could do. From there, BMC engineers fine-tuned and perfected the details, shapes, and layups to turn those Red Bull simulations into something unmistakably BMC. The result? The most complete race bike we’ve ever made. It’s Formula 1 technology coupled with Swiss cycling precision – Absolutely no compromise.

When you’re a part of Grand Tour victories, World Championships, and Olympic Gold Medals, you learn a few things about what it takes to win at the highest level. More so than the countless hours in the saddle, the fastidious adherence to proper nutrition, or the rest and recovery needed, our riders came to us asking for a bike that could do it all. It had to sail over the cobbles of the Spring Classics, fly up the climbs of Le Grande Boucle, and rip through the final 200 meters of the fastest bunch sprints.

Halo Fork

The ultrawide fork legs are unlike anything else seen in the peloton and help keep turbulent air, created by the front wheel, away from the frame.

Aerodynamics Redefined

Each component of the Teammachine R is designed to minimize drag and maximize efficiency, with all these technologies and characteristics elevated on the Masterpiece edition.

Deep Bottom Bracket Area

We call it the “Mariana Bottom Bracket” because it’s the deepest bottom bracket we have ever made on a road bike and this perfectly optimizes the surface area for cleaner airflow.

The Mpc. Touch

Mpc. – the result of removing all compromises in material, engineering processes and manufacturing. Crafted by carbon fiber masters in limited quantities, each Masterpiece is a unique blend of cutting-edge technology and unmatched craftsmanship.

Race Simulation Technology

The Teammachine R looks different than any other BMC because it was designed unlike any other BMC. The frame shapes and design elements are direct products of the computational fluid dynamic simulations carried out by Red Bull Advanced Technologies. From the hinged and sloping top tube to the ultrawide fork to the massive head tube and bottom bracket side profiles, the Teammachine R is a bike with a pedigree firmly rooted in the pursuit of perfection.

Teammachine R 01 is designed for the best riders on this planet. Stiffness and Aerodynamics are key in World Tour races and this is what the Teammachine R focuses on.

If you wish for more compliance, Teammachine SLR will be a good option to look at.

Aerodynamics matters a lot. The collaboration between BMC Impec Lab and Red Bull Advanced Technology (RBAT) engineers helped to get out of the usual bike industry “comfort zone”. For example, we were able to look at the fork design making it more aero but stiff and light still.

This is not an aero bike. It's the perfect race machine. Yes it climbs well!

The frame is stiff, reactive, and efficient under power, making it strong on climbs. The lightweight versions (~7.0 kg depending on build) enhance climbing performance.

The Teammachine R is BMC‘s aero-focused race bike, developed with input from Formula 1 engineers. It features aerodynamic tube shapes and integration, making it suitable for flat and fast courses. The SLR models prioritize a balance between weight, stiffness, and compliance, catering to a broader range of racing scenarios.
